Today is Teresa of Calcutta's feast. The letters she wanted burned describe fifty years of prayer into silence — which makes her better company on a bad week than any fridge magnet with her name on it.

Teresa of Calcutta died on 5 September 1997, which is why the internet spends every fifth of September posting her in a serif font over a sunset. Be faithful in small things. Do it anyway. Spread love wherever you go. All hers, more or less, and all of it fits on a mug.
